Ha Ramabanta Logement
Ha Ramanbanta, meaning ‘father of the red belt’ was named after a local chief who admired the red maroon belts of the British army’s uniform, so much so, that he began wearing one himself.
The village is home to Lesotho’s primary trading centre. The post was established by the merchant John Thorn in 1903, who ran the store until his death in 1957. Today, one can still shop at the trading post, where individuals from surrounding areas travel to Ha Ramanbanta for local produce, livestock and a miscellany of household goods.
Ha Ramanbanta has become a popular holiday destination for adventurists. Being positioned at the rocky foothills of the Maloti Mountains means that the village is an ideal base for mountaineers wishing to climb to the summit.
Ha Ramanbanta is a hot spot for cyclists and quad biking due to its kilometers upon kilometers of open terrain. There are countless trails from which to choose from catering to the skill levels of all riders.
Holidaymakers wishing to explore the area on horseback can book a two-hour trail through the Maluti Mountains. During the ride, you can marvel at the idyllic beauty of the region and the mountain’s diverse vegetation.
