Sun City Verblyf
Sun City is a large waterpark and casino situated in the North West province, and owing to its size, gets most of the attention in that area. However, the resort is not the only accommodation options in Sun City and surrounds. If you would like a more tranquil option than staying in the resort itself, there are many guesthouses and B&Bs outside the resort grounds.
This area is defined by the majestic Magaliesberg mountain range, which offers a scenic back drop from any angle. In this area, nine times out of ten, you will be accommodated on a farm or small-holding and personally attended to by the owners. This makes for a relaxing, demand free stay.
When you are not ensconced pool-side, you can take advantage of the many tourist attractions in the area. A visit to the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve is highly recommended, especially if you desire to spot South Africa's Big 5. The reserve offers walking safaris, night drives and regular game-drives, all of which are very rewarding.
Other things to do in the area include hiking - if you can bear the heat, indulging in a round of golf, horse-riding and trying out the 280m high zip line. There is of course Sun City Resort itself to entertain you, with its large casino, waterpark and artificial 'beach' known as the Valley of the Waves.
Sun City is desirable due to its close proximity to Johannesburg and makes a good stop over en- route to Botswana, given that it's just a few km's from the border.
