Clarens Quilt Festival 2018
The annual festival has grown and is in their 12th year of operation. It is the only annual quilt festival in the Free State and has grown over the last eleven years from 7 to 330 participants. It will be taking place at the Clarens Primary School from 26 - 30 June 2018.
This year there will be 8 classes every day. The classes are small and it is the ideal get away for the beginner quilter and those that want to quilt in a relaxed environment, to leanr in a smaller setting. Bobbin lace; Needle lace; Weaving and spinning have been added to this festival this year so be sure to not miss out!
Quilting groups are welcome to visit during the day and to support the suppliers.
The festival offers quilting, knitting, Tunisian knitting, art, spinning of wool, weaving and crocheting. The teachers at the 12th festival are: Marie Strydom (Quilting); Liezel van Aswegen (Quilting); Carolyn Trezona (Quilting) Lourea Blignaut (crochet and Tunisian knitting); Dana Biddle (Creative Knitting and Quilting); Marile Bruyns (Quilting);Glennis Brooke (Spinning and Weaving); Susan Sittig (Squaring Circles); Emmie v. d. Bergh (Fabric & Other Media) and Luise Duke (Needle Lace)
