FNB Limpopo Wine Show 2014
This year, the FNB Limpopo Wine Show will once again be coming to Polokwane, and with 7 years of experience behind them, the organisers promise that the seventh annual Limpopo Wine Show will not disappoint! This wine show, which forms one of three regional wine shows taking place in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the Free State, is organised by local wine authority Michael Fridjhon in conjunction with Outsorceress Marketing.
The event offers locals and visitors alike the opportunity to spend an evening wine tasting and meeting wine-producers in an experience usually reserved for those living a little closer to the Western Cape Winelands. This event has already proved to be a hit so consider booking Limpopo Wine Show accommodation ahead of time.
Taking place on Thursday the 24th and Friday the 25th of July, it is hard to imagine a better way to ring in the weekend. There will be around 50 exhibitors offering up to 250 wines from Cape producers available for tasting and sale. Previous years' line-ups have included big names such as Diemersfontein, Reyneke Organics, Haute Cabrière, Tokara and Raka.
In 2014 the line-up is no less impressive. As Western Cape locals (privileged by close proximity to some of South Africa’s best wine estates) will tell you, part of the joy of wine-tasting is being able to interact with the producers themselves, something the FNB Limpopo Wine Show guarantees. Furthermore, there will be a variety of olives, artisanal products and wine accessories available for sampling and if you like, for sale. Your favourite wines will also be available for sale.
This wine show, while situated in Limpopo makes a good weekend activity for those from outside the province too. Polokwane, the capital of Limpopo province is just 3,5 hours from Johannesburg. Often called the Gateway to Southern Africa, owing to its shared borders with Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe, the wine show could be the launching point for some large-scale adventures!
