Greyton Genadendal Classics For All Festival 2018
The highly popular Greyton Genadendal Classics for All Festival is soon to hit Greyton and Genadendal from 25 - 27 May 2018.
The festival, with its primary focus on showcasing the the talents of classical musicians, is a haven for music-lovers. The jam-packed lineup includes a myriad of concerts, workshops, a children-specific music show, art exhibitions, wine tastings and various food events.
The quaint villages of Greyton and Genadendal, in the foothills of the Sonderend Mountains in the Overberg, come alive with the beautiful sounds of classical music. The atmosphere at this event will truely be food for the soul. Wherever you go music will be permeating - busking at the market, a flash mob on Saturday morning; violin, guitar, piano, opera in the restaurants, it is truely a magical experiance.
The line-up includes performances by internationally acclaimed pianist Spencer Myer, the Zomari Duo of classical guitarist James Grace and flautist Bridget Rennie-Salonen, the trio of Junnan Sun (clarinet), Peter Martens (cello) and Elna van der Merwe (piano) performing “Beautiful Brahms, soprano Cecilia Rangwanasha and tenor Selim Kagee performing with the Cantique Choir in the gala concert, a reworked presentation of the music of David Bowie as performed by the Ensemble Je Ne Comprends Pas, the popular group Zamar performing the works of well-known classical music composers, and more.
