Greyton Genadendal Classics For All Festival 2016
The highly popular Greyton Genadendal Classics for All Festival is soon to hit Greyton and Genadendal from 20- 22 May 2016. A total of nine concerts will be performed in the historic churches of the quaint, Western Cape Towns.
The festival, with its primary focus on showcasing the the talents of classical musicians, is a haven for music-lovers. The jam-packed lineup includes a myriad of concerts, workshops, a children-specific music show, art exhibitions, wine tastings and various food events.
The festival will open up with a concert by Soave Cantico, who will be showcasing three up-and-coming opera singers, including the likes of tenor Thando Mjandana, baritone Luvuyo Mbundu and soprano Maudee Montierre. Other exciting performances to look forward to includes a mid-afternoon concert with Cape Town-based baroque ensemble Camerata Tinta Barocca. Audiences will be treated to the sounds of baroque music inspired by and based on folk songs and dances.
Classic music enthusiasts will be entranced by the Vivaldi's Four Seasons concerto - a performance which will provide a capitivated audience with all-time memorable and famous classical pieces.
The week-end of classical music finishes with a concert by Charl du Plessis and his Trio, an institution at the annual Classics for All festival. This year they celebrating their ten year's on stage by reenacting classics from their award-winning productions.
