DSTV Mitchells Plain Festival 2015
DSTV Mitchells Plain Festival came into being in 2009 to commemorate the township's 35th anniversary.
With a thriving population of 700 000 community members, this 3-day family event celebrates the struggles the town overcame as an apartheid-designed area and the thriving community it is today.
This event is the area's largest festival of music, dance and various exhibitions. Annually, businesses, consumers and the community of Mitchells Plain and surrounds flock together to celebrate the diversity of the Cape Flats.
Not only is the event a good day out with the whole family, but also provides short-term employment opportunities to residents from Mitchell's Plain and Khayelitsha.
Festival-goers can look to a jam-packed day of performances by local dance and vocal groups, a Kiddies Corner, and much more! Peruse through the 140 stalls for an eclectic array of food and fashion stalls.
Festival-goers can munch on market food while relaxing in the Westridge Gardens. Good music by Goodhope FM and other top-notch DJs will ensure that the party goes on throughout the day and well into the night.
Don't miss out on this much anticipated event!
