Zombie Fest 2018
The Official Zombie Walk Festival, Zombie Fest, takes place just before Halloween, running from 27-28 October 2018 at Company's Garden at the centre of Cape Town.
For those not in the know, a Zombie Walk is a fun run/walk where participants are encouraged to dress up and complete the event in their scariest zombie costumes. The Cape Town Zombie Fest is also a charity walk, raising funds for the Lucky Lucy Foundation amongst other charities in need.
Having begun humbly in 2009, there were only 180 entrants, the event has grown from strength to strength. In 2015, 4500 individuals took part in the event. 2018 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet… With Cape Town widely regarded as the party destination of choice for many South Africans and tourists, the Cape Town Zombie Fest offers something unique to bring them all together.
While the myriad of costumes may be terrifying to some, the event is family-friendly (furry four-legged members are invited too!). What's more, no real blood is spilled as the cordoned off streets and ambulance on stand-by ensure that attendees are protected from any bodily harm.
The event will also features a string of live local bands bound to get you into the spirit of the event. Other things to look forward to include a food market, beer garden, a craft market, and, of course, a best-dressed competiton.
