Raptor Ridge Lodge, Gariep Dam accommodation, is situated approximately 8.5 km off the N1 exactly halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town, on the Free State side of the Gariep Dam. The property borders the Gariepdam Nature Reserve and is set on an open plan with a unique sense of space, freedom and unity with nature. Raptor Ridge overlooks the Gariep Dam which is the largest fresh water expanse in South Africa. The dam with its shoreline of 435 km is situated on the Orange River. Raptor Ridge offers the perfect setting to escape the rat race of modern society. Apart from just relaxing and enjoying the view over the Gariep Dam and stretched out plans as well as gazing at the stars under the open Karoo sky, tapping into numerous existing Lake Gariep activities, namely bird watching, gameviewing, gamedrives and more is a possibility.
