Here you can relax with a book (your own, or one from our extensive library), go for long walks, cycle, have a picnic at the wreck of the Aristea (stranded in 1945), and many more. We offer you more than just a place to stay! Our motto is: "Come as strangers, leave as friends!" To prevent overcrowding, our facilities are only for our own paid guests. No parties, loud music or visitors allowed. Our chalets are homely, comfortable, clean, and fully equipped. We can accommodate one to five guests at affordable prices. All our chalets have en-suite bathrooms in the main bedrooms, so there is no need to venture outside in the middle of the night. Established in 1993, the Honnehokke Resort has been pointed out by various magazines as the most friendly holiday establishment on the Namaqualand West Coast: Each chalet has a private braai area and braai grids etc are available. Please note that a cleaning fee SHALL apply if the chalet is not left in the same condition it has been found. Full DStv is available in the bar and lounge. Bring your own drinks and come and enjoy the rugby with the others. We also offer Wi-Fi at an additional cost. We welcome your small breed socialized pets, as we know you love yours as much as we love ours. Please provide their own bedding. We pride ourselves with the fact that we have the only under-roof swimming pool in town where our guests, those not brave enough to face the cold waters of the ocean, can cool down. Our swimming pool and entertainment area are under roof to keep out the famous West Coast wind. Hondeklipbaai is wonderfully unique and rugged, but this comes with its problems too. Hondeklipbaai is a small town on the Namaqualand West Coast, and actually part of the Namib desert. The town has limited amounts of water available. While all our chalets have hot water, thanks to efficient gas geysers, it does sometimes happen that the municipal water pressure is too low to allow the pilot light to ignite. When this happens, we switch over to the backup system which uses water from our own private water tank to increase the pressure and allows the geyser to ignite. When there are a lot of tourists in town, it does happen that the town's water supply gets too low and we then have to ask guests to work sparingly with the water, sometimes we even have to limit the times when they can use our tank water. "Save water and shower together:)". Some more important information: Hondeklipbaai can only be reached by dirt roads, which might not always be in a good condition. The shortest dirt road is when you take the Klipfontein turn-off after Garies, and is 56 kilometers. We have frequent unexplained and unannounced power cuts. Cell phone reception and internet availability are unreliable.
