Nestled between the wheat fields of the Ruens, the Blouhuis Guest Farm lies with its natural beauty and closeness to several Overberg Tourist attractions. The farms perfect location between the towns of Swellendam (35km) and Bredasdorp (55km) makes it ideally for a weekend or mid-week getaway. Come renew yourself and experience the ordinary of living in an old farmhouse without electricity. The kitchen is equipped with crockery, cutlery, a gas fridge&freezer and a gas stove&oven. There are two bathrooms and two bedrooms (one with a double- and the other two single beds,third single bed on request). Towels and linen is provided. The double bed has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and an outdoor shower. The other bathroom has a shower. There is also an additional separate toilet. Curl up with a book in front of the indoor fireplace/braai or make a huge bonfire outside! If you are adventurous bring your walking gear or bicycle along, and grasp some fresh farm air. Cycling and walking trails is also available in the De Hoop Nature Reserve. If being energetic is not for you pack a picnic basket and spend the day in the picturesque De Hoop while watching the whales or spend quality time on their private beaches. Other close towns is Bredasdorp (Ship Wreck Museum and Capula Candles), Arniston/Waenhuiskrans (beautiful beach and vulnerable fisherman’s village), Struisbaai/Agulhas (visit the most Southern tip of Africa), Swellendam (tastes some liqueurs at Wildebraam, pick your own berries on The Berry Farm, visit Sulina’s Fairy Sanctuary, historic museums and galleries), Malagas (see the Pont, taste the best cocktails at the Bush Pub, enjoy wine at Sjinn or indulge a great pizza on the water at the Boat House) and visit the Breederiver Wine Route which starts at Bonnivale (60km).
