Located on the slopes of Muizenberg Mountain, halfway between Table Mountain and Cape Point, Bluebottle Guesthouse is the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest in our luxurious suites and a scrumptious South African breakfast on the balcony, whilst breathing fresh mountain air and taking in stunning views of the bay. Whether you are visiting the Fairest Cape for business or pleasure, we will ensure your stay is a comfortable and memorable one.
The first impression you have upon entering is one of abundant space and light. Floor to ceiling glass on two walls, gives you a breathtaking panoramic view from Cape Point across the entire bay to Cape Hangklip on the opposite shore; and creates a wonderful ambiance in which you can relax. Lovely knotty pine floors run throughout the house, complimented by wonderful antique pieces that grace the hallways and living areas.
Each of our 7 rooms is beautiful and spacious, and most importantly, each is furnished with a comfortable king-size bed with an orthopaedic mattress to ensure a good night's sleep. All of the rooms have direct access to a balcony through sliding doors. The sea and lake views are magnificent; truly wonderful for gazing into the distance and letting yourself unwind.
Food always tastes better when you can enjoy it in a relaxed and beautiful setting. Our dining area looks out over the bay through three large sliding doors, which open out onto the lower balcony. On calm sunny days we can move the tables outside, onto the balcony, so that you can enjoy your breakfast in the fresh sea air. Classical music in the background and the smell of freshly brewed coffee make this space all the more inviting.
We have two comfortable and spacious lounges available for your use, and we invite you to relax and put your feet up, or catch up on a bit of reading. If you'd like to spend an evening in, we also offer Netflix on a big-screen television, and of course there are a wide variety of restaurants that will deliver to our door should you want to order a take-away meal.
Two wooden balconies wrap around the house, on the upper and lower story extending the feeling of space, and providing a quiet place to enjoy the view, watch the sunrise, or catch up on your tan in the warm afternoon sun.
Our two kitchens both have superb fittings and are luxuriously spacious. The downstairs kitchen flows off the lounge and dining area, and is used to prepare breakfast each morning. The upper kitchen is available for the guests to use to make tea & coffee, to purchase items from the honesty bar, to store groceries in the fridge or to prepare food.
Indigenous fynbos, specific to the mountainous regions of the Cape, attracts a wealth of insect and bird life to our garden. Andrew's interest in and collecting of butterflies, has grown into a wider awareness of the intricate relationships between plant, insect and animal life. T
