It feels great to have won a night at Angela's Lodge, especially when we we really enjoyed our last stay on 6th January 2020 at the Lodge.
- Chris Kelway

A very good stay over venue in travelling from Gauteng to/from Eastern Cape. Great value for money
-

Excellent value for money, I was met at the petrol station and escorted to the property at 8pm that evening. Very friendly owner went out of his way to give me info for a good place to eat. I recommend Angelas Lodge highly.
-

I stayed in the Flamingo Room at Angela's Lodge. The room was neat and tidy but the bathroom towels were not that clean or ironed. The major issue was safety. There was no lock on the gate to the property and people were coming in and out which made us feel unsafe.

Booked my PREFERRED room six months in advance and upon arrival was shown to a different room at the Lodge which was not what I had booked and felt like I had been downgraded. Expected to stay at the room I had booked and paid for. The people running the Lodge were kind enough to move us from the SWALLOW Room to the FLAMINGO Room as per my original request/booking.

-

An excellent one night stop over between Jhb and PE.
-

Great place to stay. Excellent service from booking till leaving.
-

A little old fashioned and basic but clean and comfortable.
-

Comfortable, clean. We arrived late afternoon after a long trip from Cape Town enroute to JHB. Only to happy to have something to eat and get some sleep. Our party slept well. Everything was just perfect.
-

The facility is a bit small all round, however, for one night stay there is no problem. I wouldn't recommend the place for a longer stay.
-

The stay served the purpose of a place to sleep en route to the Eastern Cape. The place was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is not scenic and there is no view of the dam at all.
-

What a disappointment, I booked my room at Rieder for the 16th December.
When I arrived there, there were people having a party in the adjoining property.
This did not bother me too much as I believed that t the noise would stop when the sun went down. My wife and I unpacked and decided to go for a drive.
On our return, we were once again greeted with the thumping music. We got ourselves ready to go out for supper. As we approached our car, a gentlemen arrived and climbed out, I told him to please move his car as we were going out. He climbed out of his car and asked me in which unit I was staying, to which I answered, Rieder.
I told him that I hoped that the noise would subside by the time we got back, to which he answered that he could not do much about that as the noise was coming from the property next to this. It was as if he was not to concerned about it.
Anyway, we went for supper, and on our return, we stopped at the Police Station and reported the incident to the Officer on duty, took his number and said that I would phone if there was still a problem when we got back to Gariep Gardens. Upon our return to the Rieder, the music and loud chatter was still going on. I phoned the Police Officer and asked him yo come around and to ask the people to lower their music. The Officer arrived and spoke to one of the Ladies who told him that they had a right to play their music till Ten o clock at night.
Well, the loud music went off at exactly ten o clock but the chatter from next door went on until twelve o clock.
This was the one problem, the room had the mirror at the opposite end to the plugs, so you would need an extension to reach the mirror.
The shower head is so small, it was a waste of time and the tiles in the shower were extremely slippery when wet. The room where there was a shower, toilet and basin had no window and no extractor, very odd.
No,this was by far the worste overnight stay that we have ever experienced, thank goodness we did not book for our return journey.
I would not recommend this place to anybody.
Hopefully we will find a place in Colesburg for our return trip.
