Gateside is in peaceful Hilton, with magnificent views over meadows & dam, towards our own local Table mountain. IIdeal for business in Pietermaritzburg(10km's from CBD) or for visitors to the Midlands Meander. Close to St Annes & Hilton College & Life Hospital.
We make an ideal stopover as we are 2kms from the N3 highway & Hilton is midway between the Drakensberg mountains & KZN coast. Facilities include: Self-catering units or B&B. We provide Free WIFI over fibre, all credit cards accepted, onsite parking, meetings & small conferences, laundry, Netflix or Dstv (own streaming) or Basic, large pool, braai facilities, auto-generator power if required, children welcome.

We have 9 units/rooms of various accommodation types to suit your individual needs: 7 are self-catered & 2 are semi self-catered & you are welcome to book breakfast, packed lunches or delivery dinner trays as well.
All our rooms come with teatrays, hairdryers, electric blankets, aircon or wall/ceiling fans , fireplaces in some, ironing facility & free WiFi over fibre, Netflix or Dstv streaming.
Deck area of main guesthouse or outdoor areas at self-catering units all have braai facilities & breakfasts are also served up on the deck in the conservatory.
We run small conferences & meetings in the rooms in the main guesthouse building.

The guesthouse is approximately 1 km away from local shops & restaurants.

Things to Do:
We are a prime location for mountain biking, trail running & nature lovers.
Midmar Dam is within an easy 10 km meander alongwith 5 local golf courses in the surrounding area & trout-fishing that can booked on the Midlands Meander.
For history lovers, stop off on your way to visit the Anglo-Zulu Battlefields which are a couple of hours' drive from us.
We can put you in touch with guides for hiking trips in the Drakensburg (day trips or longer) and bird lovers can enjoy being guided in some of our beautiful countryside too!
