Die Bokwagtershuis, "Goat keeper's house", was originally built during the 19th century as accommodation for Matjiesvlei's goat keeper. His task was to tend to all the goats of the different farmers in the valley. The house has been authentically restored to maintain its atmosphere, with addition of modern amenities.
In the main bedroom there is a double bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds.
All linen included.
The lounge has a wood burning closed system fireplace for heating in winter.
There is an air conditioner in the lounge.
The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and has a table which comfortably seats 4 people.
The spacious stoep overlooking the veld and mountains is the ideal entertainment area with a built-in braai and more than enough seating for guests.
Braai grids, fire tongs and swartpotjie are available.
The kitchen is equipped with all the required utensils, including cutlery, crockery, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer and stove.
There is a washing machine in the store room.
The bathroom has a bath, shower and basin, with the toilet separate.
On hot summer days you can cool off in the nearby farm dam, or go for a swim in the river at the private picnic site.
