Nestled in the hills surrounding Pretoria, the suburb of Arcadia provides a refuge from the urban hustle of the capital. Within this Jacaranda lined setting, stands a gracious villa, a landmark of elegance and tranquillity dating from the turn of the previous century. The Guest House is situated at 184 Pine Street in the quiet suburb of Arcadia, one block east of the Union Buildings, amongst a number of embassies, only 10 minutes from the Pretoria CBD.
The main residence was originally built in 1890. It has a Victorian style and is one of a few houses from this period still in existence.
The building has undergone a number of restorations, but the character of the house has not changed. Soaring moulded ceilings, period wooden doors and windows, stained glass and antique furniture give the main residence's interior a warm glow.
We offer 4 spacious double rooms and 2 standard double rooms all of which have en-suite facilities. The double rooms have showers and the single rooms have baths. All rooms are air-conditioned and have outside doors to give the guest as much comfort and privacy as possible. The stoep extending across the length of the guest house provides a place where guests can relax while enjoying the beautiful view it provides of the city and surrounding hills.
We are very close to the following:
Loftus Versveld, Pretoria Botanical Gardens, CSIR, Embassies, Unisa, University of Pretoria, Union Buildings, Hospitals, Art Gallery, Museums, Centurion cricket grounds and the N1 Freeway.
All credit cards are accepted when paying through Sleeping-OUT.
