Overview

The ethos of Sederkloof Lodge is the tranquil enjoyment that the spectacular Baviaanskloof, World Heritage Site, in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, offers.

This venue consists of six luxury stone-and-glass hideaways in the mountains, with communal lounge and dining areas, pool and bar facilities.

Emphasis is on privacy, luxury, delicious food, fine wines and a choice of guided activities.

Each chalet is carefully situated at the edge of a gorge in such a way as to provide complete privacy to its guests, as well as affording a view of the gorge and mountain unimpaired by other human artifacts.

Rates include all meals and excursions. Our meals at Sederkloof Lodge are all prepared by our chef Herman Jonker and our trained staff members. Herman is a City & Guilds accredited Chef, with a certificate in Culinary arts and Pattisserie, and has a Meerendal Hospitality Diploma where he trained under Chef David Higgs.

Excursions that are included in the price, are a guided hike into the Cedar Gorge, a sunset 4x4 game drive, a picnic safari day trip into the Baviaanskloof Reserve, a visit to the Sewefontein fountains, and a dinner by candlelight and fires, in an old Bushman cave.

Camp Naguna Luxury Tented Camp (self-catering)

Sleeps 4
Camp Naguna Luxury Tented Camp (self-catering) Room Thumbnail Pic 1

Camp Naguna is a luxury tented camp situated in the riparian forest between the cliffs of the Groot Naguna gorge, a kilometre from where the mountains are split by a riverbed into a deep canyon. It is the ideal place for city folk to get-away-from-it-all and to be cradled in the arms of nature for a while. A place to wind down and recharge those batteries in the solitude of forest and birdsong. Vehicles are parked where the track ends. From here guests walk approximately 200 m to the camp. Camp Naguna is a self-catering camp which can accommodate four people. Additional tents can be put up for children above the age of six upon request. The camp is equipped with two bedroom tents and two bathroom tents. Each bedroom tent contains two single beds, a bedside table, a trunk with additional blankets, torches, insect repellent and matches. Each bathroom tent is equipped with a bath, basin, toilet, towels and amenities. Through the gauze windows, one looks up into the cliffs above, with the river and forest trees that encapsulate its canvases. An outside shower with a gas hot water boiler is also built outside each of the bathroom tents. There is a small pool near the kitchen where one can cool down in on hot summer days. This can be closed if there are small children around. Meals can be prepared in the small kitchen that has been constructed inside the rock overhang, using either a gas stove or the fireplace. Please note that the camp does not have electricity. All lights are supplied by lanterns, torches and gas lamps. Cooking may be done on the gas stove or over the fire. All cutlery and bedding is provided, as well as ice and firewood. A short 200 m walk is required from the parking area to the camp. Hence make sure to pack in such a way that it is easy for you to walk that short distance with your food and gear. A minimum stay of two nights is recommended to gain the full benefit of this wonderfully secluded haven. Camp Naguna Luxury Tented Camp guests have exclusive access to the Groot Naguna Hiking Trail (Click here for more information), and complete privacy is part of the package.

Where pricing is "per unit" the Average Price Per Person based on maximum occupancy is used for the price range comparison. A search made for Homes and Villas however will always be based on the full daily rate of the unit irrespective of the number of people the unit sleeps.
