Sneeuberg Backpackers is nestled in a quite road in the small peaceful village of Nieu Bethesda; famous for the Helen Martins Owl House. At night, the property lights up with fairy touches of solar lights that dimly light your path to walk, yet allow for enough darkness to get lost in the milky way. As an adventure center, we offer a wide range of activities in the surrounding areas from cycling trails, bike rides, bird watching, star gazing, horse riding and much more.
A "must-do" is a walk to the top of Compassberg, an iconic feature for the area and the inspiration to the "Sneeuberg" beginnings. The village also has many resident artists, potters and sculptors who welcome you to view their work. Visits to attractions in the surrounding area must include a visit to Ganora farm with its bushman paintings and fossil walks. Another must do is a visit to The Valley of Desolation and Camdeboo National Park in Graaf Reinet. A scenic 50 km drive will get you there. For more information on our activities and offers please don't hesitate to send a mail.
