The Terrace is a quietly sophisticated B&B ideally located for leisure or business in the area of Upper Kenilworth, adjacent to Claremont, in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs. We are 1.5km from Cavendish Mall, 2km from Newlands Rugby and Cricket stadia, 5km from UCT, 13km from the City Bowl and the V&A Waterfront and 15-20km from numerous fabulous beaches.
Room 1 "Mountain View" is a lovely spacious room with a comfortable sitting area and a splendid view of Devil's Peak and Table Mountain. Together with its well-appointed en-suite shower room, this room has the upper floor of the main house entirely to itself and is accessed by a staircase. The room has a flat screen TV, digital safe, mini-fridge, tea-making facilities and is air-conditioned.
Room 2 "The Cottage" is a charming self-contained garden cottage just a few steps from the main house. The double bedroom, en-suite shower room and separate open-plan sitting room/kitchen comprise 32m of accommodation, delightfully decorated in fresh greens and white. The kitchen, with its granite worktops, is fully equipped, offering a self-catering option (at the same rate as the B&B option). There is a flat screen TV, digital safe and the bedroom is air-conditioned.
Room 3 "The Studio" with its dark wood-block floor and colonially-inspired decor comprises a large bedroom/sitting room with an en-suite shower room. It opens with large glazed, "stack-back" doors directly onto the garden and is only steps away from the pool deck. It has a 32" flat screen TV, digital safe, mini fridge and tea-making facilities and is equipped with a remote controlled ceiling fan.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom with a shower, DSTV, Wi-Fi, ample wardrobe space, hairdryer. Milk, filtered water and tea/coffee are replenished daily. Bed and bathroom linen is superior quality (pure cotton) and soaps, shampoo and conditioner are of a luxurious range.
We love nothing more than for our guests to make themselves at home and the sitting room, verandah, large salt-water pool, deck and leafy garden are all for your enjoyment. Breakfast is served in the "conservatory" dining room or on the verandah. Parking (well-lit) is on the street directly outside the property.
Located in a quiet cul-de-sac, facing a row of historic Victorian houses with their ornate verandas and corrugated tin roofs typical of that period, The Terrace, while more contemporary, has its own wonderful charm, blending the essential "Englishness" of the area's colonial origins with a serenity and informality that is uniquely African. There are 2 good, informal restaurants (Jakes and Borrusso's), a great deli, pharmacy, coffee shops, hairdresses and a 7/11 convenience store just a 200m walk from us!
All credit cards are accepted when paying through Sleeping-OUT.
