Villachad has a definite mix of African elegance with Bali ambience. This African oasis will slow your breathing down to the tempo of the slow late-afternoon African drumming - calling all to lay their troubles aside and enjoy the sunset.
Quaint restaurants & shops in the harbour and village set the mood for a relaxing and romantic stay at Villachad. An hour's drive from Cape Town International airport and a golfers paradise with Arabella & Hermanus to add to Kleinmond's own 9 hole Golf course. Excellent birding, nature walks, wine tours, horse riding, whale watching, shark cage diving, sand boarding, quad biking, fishing & moon gazing!
Let us spoil you. Villachad offers an oasis of luxurious "Balafrican" grace. The tranquil fusion of elements from Bali & Africa is disarmingly easy on all your senses, inspiring relaxation and deep breathing.
The names of the rooms declare the intention of the spaces - honoring the grounding elements of African life:
Jua - Sun
Maji - Water
Mvua - Rain
Moto - Fire
Upepo - Wind
Despite its beauty and relative peacefulness, Kleinmond is the largest of the four coastal towns that fall within the biosphere and as such, serves as a commercial centre for the Hangklip-Kleinmond area. Traditionally a retirement village, the town comes alive during holiday season and is renowned for large numbers of lobster in summer and whale watching in winter. Visitors to Kleinmond have access to safe swimming in lagoons, walking, hiking, bird watching, a black water river, caves and exciting rocky tidal pools; there is even a golf course for avid followers of the sport.
Kleinmond is reputed to be home to the country's only herd of wild horses that live in the wetland close to the mouth of the Bot River. They are said to have been abandoned by a British garrison after World War II and roam the flats and river estuary as they please.
