Livre d'or

The Haven probably has one of the best beaches along the 'Wild Coast', but the facilities have seen better days. Our roof leaked and the solution was just to push the bed to the side, unplug the light and replace the bedding with dry bedding. However, I cannot put the blame totally on management as it seems the place is being leased and no-one wants to put money into something you are not guaranteed to reap the rewards from. The staff are very friendly, but the variety in food was a let down.

Very rustic but wonderful. The rooms are basic but the beds sleep well and where else can you sit on the veranda of your room in your pj's and drink coffee! The hospitality of the staff was excellent and the food was very good. The scenery and walks in the nature reserve was stunning. The beach is beautiful and everything is so peaceful. No crowds of people around you and you can walk for hours on the beach just admiring the scenery. The only negative point is the bad roads leading to the reserve. You definitely need a bakkie or 4X4. Thanks once again to Matthew, Sonja and Mike for a lovely stay!
