Addington Beach is situated on the Golden Mile in Durban, right next to Ushaka Marine World, and is the ideal tourist destination. It is the perfect swimming beach as the water is reasonably still with only a few small waves as it is protected by the harbour and the temperature is always warm as it forms part of the Indian Ocean.
Addington Beach is great for families as it is protected by professional lifeguards and also has plenty of shark nets. If you want to learn to surf, there are multiple surfing companies that offer surfing lessons on Addington Beach. Shower and changing room facilties are available on the beach and there are lots of restaurants and bars a few minutes from the beach for visitors to grab a drink or a bite to eat.
