The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) takes pride of place on the foreshore of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With its excellent position within one of the top 10 tourist destinations in the world and its excellent service offerings, it is no surprise that the CTICC is dubbed as one of the leading convention Centres in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Cape Town international Convention Centre is located in the heart of Cape Town’s central business district. This means that it is a mere stone’s throw away from some of Cape Town’s best accommodation establishments and attractions. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, for example is within walking distance.
The CTICC boasts a number of venues suitable for a variety of events. Among them are 2 auditoriums, a flexible exhibition and/or trade show space, a popular roof terrace room, a grand ball room and a range of meeting rooms and suites.
The auditoriums host award ceremonies, lectures and even theatre productions as they are fitted with an orchestra pit and for business occasions, translation booths. The ball room, which can either be flooded with natural light or blacked out with blinds, can be subdivided if your banquet is a smaller affair. For a slightly less formal occasion, the roof terrace rooms offers spectacular views of the harbour and city, and many a cocktail function has been held here.
Apart from the venue, the Cape Town International Convention Centre offers a number of useful services to delegates and conference organisers. Among them, a large, advanced kitchen facility staffed by internationally-trained staff, which connects to satellite kitchens throughout the centre. Audio and visual support is a given as is IT and décor support. The CTICC also offers a foreign exchange service and business centre – which takes care of printing, faxing and other business-related tasks. There is also a restaurant and cigar lounge as well as a coffee shop for early morning starts.
Given its central location, all manner of transport is available to and from the CTICC, from hire cars, MyCiti busses and taxis to water taxis and bicycles. You can even walk to many places.
If you are attending a conference at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, know you will be as close as can be to the best that Cape Town has to offer. In this case it’s mandatory to combine business with pleasure!
