Carnival City is a large casino complex situated in Brakpan, Gauteng. It is part of the Sun International stable and the association with a well-known brand means that you will get quality guaranteed.
Being a large casino, you can expect a number of offerings. Where the gaming floor is concerned, there are no fewer than 1750 intelligent card slot machines and 60 high tech tables. All of these open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Apart from the wide array of gaming options, you will also notice the strong carnival theme throughout the complex. This carnival atmosphere is heightened over the weekend when the Carnival Party Pit gets going.
The Party Pit occurs on Fridays and Saturdays when the gaming floor is transformed into a hub of live entertainment including live music, dance and other surprises.
As with other casino complexes, Carnival City also boasts a convenient selection of fast food restaurants such as KFC and Wimpy as well as children’s entertainment options, shopping and live events.
There are two live entertainment venues – the Big Top Arena which can hold up to 4000 people, and the more intimate Mardis Gras club, a review bar capable of hosting 200 people. Some of the live events which have been put on include the Electric Circus - a tantalising acrobatic performance, Carnival City’s own Cirque du Solei – and Ladies Night, a male striptease act. The Casino also plays host to numerous live music acts and comedy festivals.
For children there is a Ster Kinekor cinema, a Magic Company arcade and Laser Zone, a darkened room where children can run wild with laser guns. There are also numerous shops specialising in gifts from perfume to Harley Davidson merchandise.
Carnival City takes their corporate social responsibility seriously and donates to numerous charities in the area via the Afrisun East Rand Trust.
