University of Technology (DUT) has 5
campuses located in the metropolitan cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg,
as well as others in the Midlands area.
The
university is part of the International
Association of Universities as well as the Commonwealth Universities. These
memberships guarantee the university’s world-class
reputation and represent a long-standing
collaboration with universities all over the world. Durban University of
Technology is committed to providing a student-centred learning experience
geared toward helping students to reach their greatest potential.
There are 65 courses offered at the university
that are geared toward optimizing the employability of students. These courses
are offered across 6 different faculties namely: Accounting and Informatics, Applied Sciences, Arts and Design, Engineering
and the Built Environment, Health Sciences and Management Sciences. The
university offers internationally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate
qualifications which include both diplomas
and degrees.
DUT is very
proud of the many award-winning students
it produces and has been producing since its inception in 1907, over 100 years
ago. The university often reports on exciting news about students making
history in one way or another. For example, DUT has produced the first
operational paramedic to get their Master's degree in Emergency Medical Care in
the history of KwaZulu Natal. One of the university’s graduates of Video
Technology won an Emmy at the prestigious Emmy Awards.
There is
also a great interest and pride taken in
sports, especially since Sports Management and Sports Sciences is one of
the faculties. Some of the students even compete on an international level.

Loved it. Old world charm, close to the beach but when you are in Berea it feels like a different country. We went for walks (felt very safe) visited the local coffee shops and restaurants. Loved our stay!
