The East London International Convention Centre (ELICC) can be found in East London, in the Eastern Cape. A relatively small convention centre, it competes with local and international convention centres more in terms of services than size. It also has one of the most picturesque convention centre locations you’ll find anywhere, giving it an immediate edge.
The East London International Convention Centre is able to host approximately 3000 delegates and boasts flexible event spaces which can be adapted to your needs. For example, the Plenary Hall can take 1500 delegates while the smallest meeting rooms can host 10 people. The large lawns outside can accommodate a large number of people and are a particular popular space for outdoor expos and less formal conventions, due to the exquisite sea views to be had.
This convention centre can rival any other in terms of its facilities. Event organisers can transform the standard convention space into a fairy tale setting for your wedding reception or classy affair for your gala dinner. On a more functional scale, they can build an appropriate stage and the resident riggers can hang banners and set up lights to ensure your event sends the right message.
Since many events would not be complete without food, the East London International Convention Centre provides an excellent catering service which can accommodate any number of dietary requirements from vegetarian requests to health requirements. Orders with religious requirements are easily outsourced. The centre also provides security, which extends to the ample parking area, and technical and audio-visual support.
This convention centre is located near the centre of East London, close to amenities such as shops, restaurants and banks. East London’s Marine Complex, home to the aquarium and numerous eateries, both formal and informal, is a two minute walk away. The main transport hub is round the corner and many hotels and other East London accommodation establishments are within an easy distance of the ELICC.
