Golf Club is nestled in the foothills of
the Hottentots Mountains. It is located in Erinvale, close to Somerset West
in the Western Cape.

Golf Club is renowned for its visually pleasing yet challenging golf course that
is popular amongst golfers, both locals and those visiting from abroad. It is
set in beautiful rural surroundings
of rolling hills of farmland with sweeping views of the False Bay coastline and
the Winelands.
This 18-hole, par 72 rated-course was originally
designed by Ian Player in 1988 with
the help of his legendary brother, golfer, Gary Player. It was a number of
years before construction of the course began though. The club and the designer
golf course were only officially opened
on the 7th of May 1995, 2 and a half years after the start of
the construction phase. The following year it hosted the 1996 World Cup of golf
and the SAA Open in both 2003 and 2004. Recently it hosted the South African
Disabled open.
The club
has a number of ancillary golfing facilities for golfers such as the outstanding pro shop which is well-stocked with high quality equipment
and has a golf-pro on duty. Various pieces of equipment can be hired from the shop including clubs, golf carts
and trollies.
The
clubhouse has a halfway house for
light meals between holes, and there is also a bar and restaurant for a more leisurely socialising session. The
Erinvale Golf Club hires out its
premises for special functions ranging from
conferences to parties.
