Accommodation near Hex Valley Golf Club - 2

The Hex Valley Golf Club is a course in De Doorns, in the Boland area of the Western Cape. This 9-hole golf course is nestled in the Hex River Valley, approximately 120 kilometres north-east of the city of Cape Town. It boasts a beautiful location at the foot of the Hex River Mountains, the 2nd highest mountain range in the province.

The Hex Valley Golf Club is a great venue for both its golfing facilities and the social environment it offers. The club encourages golf as a family bonding activity by offering family memberships and there are golf classes for golfers of all ages.

The Hex Valley Club hosts several local tournaments a year and takes great pride in serving the community. To further the clubs philanthropic efforts, it hosts numerous fund-raising events throughout the year too.

The idea for the golf course initially occurred in 1989 when a couple of farmers made the bold decision to build a golf course in the farming town of De Doorns. After a few years of meetings to get permission and organise construction, the Hex Valley Golf Club, referred to by the locals as 'Hex', was opened on the 7th of August 1992.

The course was designed by Francois Malherbe, and was built by the residents of De Doorns themselves! Farmers and farm workers all worked jointly to create what would become the jewel of De Doorns.

This quaint course with its breath-taking back drop is truly a golf club for the people, by the people!

Worcester Reviews

Worcester
Magnificent natural features and an interesting heritage area. Not many choices of restaurants, particularly during the new year holiday. Karoo Botanical Garden is a great spot to explore, provided you get an early start and avoid the mid-day heat.
