Kelvin Grove is situated in Newlands, Cape Town and is the largest sports club in South Africa. Boasting a 15m sparkling pool, eleven tennis courts (5 floodlit), eight squash courts, a rubgy / cricket field, bowling greens, a croquet lawn and a fully managed fitness centre, this sports club has more activities than most exercise centres.
The club also offers 8 different dining venues, from the informal Waterside Restaurant, Pool Bar, the Coffee Shop and The Barn family restaurant to the fine dining Terrace & Wine Cellar, Terrace Tea Lounge or Sushi & Champagne Bar.
Kelvin Grove is well known by many for their many Private Function Venues. These range from a 10-seater conference room to an elegant Ballroom that can seat 350 guests for a formal dinner or 400 guests in a conference cinema style seating arrangement. The most recent addition is the Sports Pavilion which overlooks the bowling green and has become a popular wedding venue. While the sporting facilities and restaurants are for member use only, the venues can also be hired by non members.
The Club is next to world-famous Newlands Cricket Club and the Rugby Club making it a popular spot for pre-drinks before games and dinner thereafter. An added bonus as a member is being able to park your car at Kelvin Grove for all cricket and rugby games.
