Kidd's Beach was named after Charles Kidd, who was the mayor of King William's Town in the 1860s. The beach is situated on the Mcantsi River which is about 30kms from East London.
Kidd's Beach is well known by surfers for the waves but it is also a great spot for families as it has tidal pools. Many people also visit Kidd's Beach for fishing, bird watching and as a stop-over for trips between the Transkei and the Garden Route.
