Accommodation near Muizenberg Beach - 26
Muizenberg Beach is a firm favourite amoungst locals and tourists alike. On sunny days, the beach is jam-packed with families, walkers, surfers and sunbathers. The beach stretches from the top of False Bay to the Strand, over 20kms. The beachfront has been upgraded recently and now features many smart restaurants with a few quirky shops dotted in between.
If you want to learn to surf, Muizenberg Beach is the place to be. The warm shallow water is great for beginner surfers and swimmers. There are plenty of Surf Schools along the beachfront and a few lessons at Gary's Surf School, Learn 2 Surf or Stoked Surf School will get you up and riding the waves.
Many locals grab a coffee and stroll from Muizenberg Beach to St James, where the little ones can paddle in the shallow rockpools. The beach is also home to White Sharks and a shark watch service operates from Muizenberg, signalling beach-goers when sharks are in close proximity. The train station is right next to the beach and therefore provides easy access. If you are planning a visit to the beach, we suggest you leave early if you are travelling by car so that you find a parking spot.

Muizenberg
I loved Muizenberg. It has a quaint, village feel (newly renovated and old shabby) and a variety of different views and activities. I enjoyed the beach (would be nice if you could warm up the sea!!), and walked around the "village" looking at the buildings and made it my business to climb hundreds of stairs to check out the views. Everywhere you look there is a picture postcard view. All municipal buildings were beautifully maintained. well done.
