Accommodation near Oubaai Golf Club - 10
The Oubaai Golf Club is but one aspect of the prestigious Oubaai Golf Resort and Spa. It is located on the extremely desirable stretch of coast in the South Western Cape, known as the Garden Route. You’ll find it 10 kilometres from the George Airport, very close to the tiny but coveted little settlement of Herold’s Bay.
The Oubaai Resort consists of a number of privately-owned apartments and houses, the 100 bed Oubaai Hyatt Regent Hotel and of course, the Oubaai Golf Course, a gem if ever there was one.
The resort lies nestled between the iconic Outeniqua Mountains and the warm Indian Ocean. Its setting lends it a peaceful air and there is no doubt that playing in the shadow of a beautiful mountain, on a spectacular coastline can only end well.
The 18-hole championship course was designed by Ernie Els, a South African golfer who has won the US Open twice and is a British Open title-holder. It was designed according to the landscape with the goal of providing a challenging but fun game to whoever attempts it.
As for the nitty gritty, it is a traditional links layout course with the natural vegetation (veld grasses) lining the vibrant green fairways. The course is uniquely long for a coastal golf course at 6516 metres and the 17th hole is, without contest, the scenic highlight of the course. It is at this point that the fairways meet their end at the Indian Ocean, providing a dramatic contrast between green and blue.
The Oubaai Golf Club boasts a pro-shop, driving range and other facilities too, in addition to the clubhouse which looks out across the fairways of the 17th hole and the ocean.

George
This town has world class looks and it is peaceful it my favourite holiday destination. The Ontaniqua mountain on the background makes it look like you are not in ZA especially if you are from Gauteng and on a good day the weather is very beautiful
