Given its name, the location of the Plettenberg Bay Country Club shouldn’t come as a big surprise. Situated in the heart of the luscious Garden Route, on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay, visiting this course promises a scenic experience which you won’t forget in a hurry.

The 18-hole parklands course is one of the many popular tourist attractions in the area around Plett, and while there are other golf courses too, you won’t get a better experience than the one you’ll have here. The course consists of kikuyu grass fairways and bayview greens. The upgraded version of the course was designed by well-known course architect Rob O’Friell, and provides not only a satisfyingly challenging experience, but a very tranquil one too. What more could you want from a round of golf?

The Plettenberg Bay Country Club is set on a small nature reserve which is filled with indigenous flora, making for a stunning back drop. Furthermore, the setting is quiet with no sounds of city or traffic punctuating the calm. Instead, the only thing likely to distract you from your game is if a vervet monkey swings by, a bushbuck wonders onto the course or Knysna Loerie chirps in your ear. Speaking of birds, there is a healthy variety of birds which call the reserve home, and as a result the country club is a popular destination among local birders.

Other facilities at the club include a lovely clubhouse with a bar and very comfortable lounge. The venue can be hired out for various occasions such as birthday parties and prize-giving events. Catering can be gladly arranged too.
