The Sandton Convention Centre is one of Southern Africa’s leading and most prestigious, multi-purpose exhibition and convention centres. It is located in northern Johannesburg, in the heart of Sandton's business, hotel and entertainment district.
It is adjacent to one of the country's top shopping and entertainment complexes and offers nearly 11 000 secure parking bays in three big parking arcades.
It is considered to be South Africa's most technologically advanced convention centre - with 12 storeys, 26 escalatiors and over 22 000 m² of convention, exhibition and event space. The Pavilion seats 4 500 patrons,the Ballroom can seat 2 000 banquet guests and the 13 other meeting rooms can accommodate up to 350 delegates. The two exhibition levels have a combined floor space of 11 000 m².
Multiple events can be staged at once on the four levels and up to 10 000 visitors can be accommodated at any one time. Whether for an international conference with thousands of delegates, a private boardroom meeting for intimate high-level meetings, the Sandton Convention Centre can cater for it.
The centre is decorated with a comprehensive collection of authentic Southern African art. More than 100 art pieces are on display on the public levels, by well known artists such as Noria Mabasa and Jackson Hlongwane. These artworks provide an experience of contemporary Southern African art and traditional craftwork for visitors.
Sandton Convention Centre is part of Tsogo Sun, the largest hotel operator in Africa,and a wholly owned private concern.
The Sandton Convention Centre is a about 45 minutes drive from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport, or 20 minutes on the Gautrain Express. Airport-approved operators provide taxi, bus and shuttle services run between Sandton and the terminal.
