The TicketPro Dome, formerly known as the Coca-Cola Dome, is Africa’s premium multi-purpose venue. The dome is located in northern Johannesburg and has played host to the most exciting sporting and entertainment events in the country.
Since its establishment in 1997, the dome is an unmissable landmark in Johannesburg. While sitting in early-morning and late-evening traffic, commuters regularly drive past the dome on their way to and from the central business district.
The dome is owned by Sasol Penson and has been, for the past ten years, been managed by Thebe Exhibitions. The decision to undergo a name change was not at random, but was the result of a seven year sponsorship with TicketPro. This sponsorship was brought about in March 2015.
TicketPro coordinates numerous sporting and entertainment events across South Africa. Their responsibilities include successfully organising tickets, access control and hospitality for a wide range of festival, concerts and other miscellaneous happenings.
What makes the TicketPro Dome all the more attractive is its central location –it is in close proximity to nearby accommodation, shopping complexes and the airport. The dome is 45 minutes away from Johannesburg O.R International Aiport and a mere 15 minute drive from the smaller Lanseria Airport. If you’re a commuter with a few hours to kill before you hop on a plane, pop into the TicketPro Dome to catch a show or sporting event. The venue is also close to Sandton’s business centre, a prime spot for frazzled businessmen who are looking for a de-stressing outlet upon their lunch breaks.
Due to 22 000-seating capacity, the Ticketpro dome is a venue of choice for major concerts, events and performances. Several stars, both international and local, have walked the stage of the dome, including the sold-old performance of South African hip hop recording artist, Cassper Nyovest.
