Vredenheim's owners, originally game farmers from Kwazulu Natal, were inspired by their great passion for big cat to open a Big Cats Park at Vredenheim to educate the public about these majestic animals.
The Big Cats Park, which is fully approved by Cape Nature, was opened in October 2011, and it has been attracting visitors both local and internation ever since.
The park is fully approved by Cape Nature.
It is currently home to:
3 adult brown lions
2 adult white lions
1 white lion cub
2 brown lion cubs
2 caracal
1 cheetah
1 leopard
2 Bengal tigers..
The big cat enclosures are large and spacious offering each cat a play area, a swimming pool for the tigers, long grass for leopard and cheetah, and a big, comfortable rock for the male white lion to sun himself on during the day.
