Atlantic Seaboard Unterkünfte - 8
Beginning at Mouille Point, and stretching along the coast as far as Hout Bay, is a strip of affluent Cape Town suburbs. What these suburbs have in common is a geographical situation which has them tucked between Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean. These suburbs are typically arranged to look towards the sea, at the expanse of ocean which eventually meets South America. This cluster of suburbs is collectively known as the Atlantic Seaboard, and it is one of the most visually arresting parts of Cape Town.
Each suburb along the seaboard comes with its own charms, as well as the mountain and sea views. Mouille Point, Green Point and Sea Point are renowned for their restaurant scene which is brimming with vibey eateries serving delicious, innovative quality meals. There are also a number of bars and clubs in the area to head to after you’ve eaten.
The promenade, which runs along the coast from the Mouille Point lighthouse to the end of Sea Point, is a great place to get some exercise in, whether you walk or jog along the promenade or utilise one the outdoor gym. It’s also the place to go to get the full-on feeling of these suburbs’ international population.
Further along you’ll find yourself in Clifton, home to one of Cape Town’s hippest (and most wind-protected) beaches. The water is notoriously cold but on a hot summer’s day, that’s just what you need. The same goes for Camps Bay. Victoria Road is lined with Camps Bay’s exclusive restaurants and beach bars on one side, and the palm lined beach on the other, and when it’s hot, there’s little better than downing your cocktail and bounding into the freezing water.
At the other end of the Atlantic Seaboard is Llandudno, a little bowl of expensive homes, no commercial outlets whatsoever and a really great beach. Just beyond it is the little Republic of Hout Bay, the most southerly of the Atlantic Seaboard suburbs. Hout Bay is more wholesome than some of the other Seaboard suburbs and is home to a harbour and small fishing community.
Generally speaking, suburbs on the Atlantic Seaboard are not only picturesque but also convenient. The V&A Waterfront for example is just around the corner from Sea Point, Green Point and Mouille Point, and the Table Mountain cable car is easily accessible from Camps Bay via Kloof Nek Road.

Hout Bay
Hout Bay is a great location. Plenty of restaurants. Easy to get onto Chapman's Peak Drive. Easy to get to the nightlife in Camps Bay. Easy to visit Kirstenbosch and Constantia wine farms... Definitely my favourite place to stay.
