Swaziland Accommodatie - 2
Swaziland is a positively miniscule country in Southern Africa, covering only 200 kilometres from north to south and 130 kilometres from west to east. Despite its tiny size though, it boasts a diverse range of landscapes and enough indigenous culture to keep culture vultures intrigued for ages. There are also mammals and diverse birdlife to marvel at, along with arts and crafts products.
Swaziland is almost entirely surrounded by South Africa, apart from a small section to the north of the country where it borders Mozambique. This area is mountainous and is home to ranges such as the Lubombo Mountains, which are carved into a series of canyons by some of Swaziland’s epic rivers. These mountain and canyon regions are home to myriad cattle farmers, and along with the manufacturing sector, cattle farming and other forms of agriculture are the economic pillars of the country.
To the east of the country you’ll find savannas and the northwest is covered in rainforest – proving that diversity of plants and animals in Swaziland is not a myth.
The country is inhabited mostly by ethnic Swazis, who speak siSwati and whose culture is fascinating to outsiders. It is a sovereign state, currently ruled by the polygamous King Mswati III. Various traditions go along with the culture, among them festivals such as Umhlanga (the reed dance) in August or September and Incwala in December or January.
As you might imagine, an under-developed place like Swaziland, which has numerous landscapes on offer, provides plenty of opportunities for adventure enthusiasts who enjoy anything from hiking and bird watching to abseiling, rock climbing and mountain biking.
It may be small, but for a certain kind of person it provides everything you could want from a holiday…

Lobamba
Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is beautiful. There is abundant Birdlife and the numerous species of rarely-seen Antelope, wondering around freely, was simply magical! The peace and quiet was delightful! An area one could never tire of visiting, without doubt.

Lobamba
Beautiful, tranquillity so refreshing to get away from the busy life of Durban.
I could literally feel my body coming into peace with visit. The view of the green mountains and clean surrounding captures the essence of your heart.

Mbabane
What we saw of Mbabane is a city surrounded by hills. Very clean, the roads are great and the people just as friendly.
We would have liked to see more but the weather made it impossible, we will certainly visit again.
