Cape Town Nu World Festival 2015 - 12

The Cape Town Nu World Festival (formerly, The Cape Town World Music Festival) brings a taste of Africa to Cape Town City Hall from 17 - 18 July 2015.

Now in its third year, the music festival offers event-goers a unique experience, with the aim of inspiring, uniting and educating, by representing South Africa and beyond in a journey of musical discovery.

This year’s them is 'Wild & Wise', with a focus on the juxtaposition of the old and the new, the knowing and naive - resulting in some exciting collaborations, pairing local legends with fresh up-and-coming artists.

Highlights of the show include two-time South African Music Awards winner Simphiwe Dana, Zimbabwean star Mokoomba, and Austrian based former street-performer Özlem Bulut on the main stage.

The line-up is as follows:
Dunkelbunt (Austria)
Fantasma
Tcheka (Cape Verde) & Derek Gripper
Majozi
Simphiwe Dana
Mokoomba (Zimbabwe)
Özlem Bulut (Turkey/Austria)
Toby2shoes
Spoek vs. Spoko
Elemotho (Namibia)
Native Young
Paul Waxon
Aero Manyelo
Vukazithathe
Kanda Bongo Man (Congo)
Riky Rick
Bateleur

Thris Tian & Blackfoot Pheonix
Zuko Collective

Returning once again are the Lightbulb Sessions, which are short TED style talks by featured festival artists as well as industry innovators. The Lightbulb Sessions are freely open to all members of the public and take place on Saturday afternoon from 2pm at City Hall, until the start of the festival.
