The Ekurhuleni Wine and Whiskey Festival is set to take place at the luxurious D’oreale Grande Gardens at Emporers Palace. Wine and whiskey enthusiasts, as well as lovers of good food, are invited to enjoy a weekend premium whiskey and wine samplings accompanied by delectable food spreads. This extravagant event is due to take place from 1-3 April 2016.
While whiskey and wine samplings form the main attractions, the event is more than just a celebration of the finer things in life. Says Tshepang Lustaba from Asakhe Event; "the Ekurhuleni Wine & Whisky Festival is poised to become a hallmark annual affair that will fuse entertainment and empowerment in such a manner that it will have a lasting, positive impact on the Ekurhuleni community. Before the festival is due to take place, forty selected adults will receive training to act as promoters and runners building up to the event, and throughout the show. These social and marketing skills retained will help to develop career prospects and opportunities for the future.
Festival-goers can look forward to workshops hosted by numerous owners of taverns, restaurants and liquor stores. This will give individuals the opportunity to meet up with, and gain invaluable advice from top wine and whiskey producers.
Over and above the complimentary wine tastings, attendees can buy an assortment of merchandise at cellar prices. If you're looking for more than just a nibble, there will be tables filled with delectable grub, including freshly baked bread, olives, oysters and cold meats.
Tickets are available online from Computicket. A general ticket includes a signature wine glass, a magazine and wine tasting while a VIP pass includes a snack platter, two bottles of wine, a carry bag, and a cap.
