Just Sorry For My Feet - 19

Labia supports StreetSmart with new Camino de Santiago film

A new film set on the famous Camino de Santiago in Spain, which draws people from across the globe on an epic annual pilgrimage, will be screened over four showings in aid of StreetSmart SA at Cape Town’s iconic Labia Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, 1 - 2 May 2021.

The award winning film, Just sorry for my feet, documents two solitary pilgrimages undertaken in 2017 and 2018 by Gabi Röhrl who walked one million steps with professional camera equipment in her rucksack along the Way of St James, the Camino Francés, in Spain. The documentary won Best Outdoor Culture Film at the 2020 Nordic Adventure Film Festival.

In this unique documentary for cinema you’ll follow the ups and downs of her eventful journey and experience her unforgettable moments of happiness, stunning landscapes, and numerous encounters with fascinating people. Join Gabi on her emotional journey in which the lead role is always played by the Way itself, making this documentary so unique.

StreetSmart SA is an organisation dedicated towards helping vulnerable children rebuild their lives through public donations with the support of a network of restaurants, accommodation establishments and wine tasting centres throughout the Western Cape and Gauteng.

Funds are primarily raised by StreetSmart partners adding a voluntary R5 donation to their patrons’ bills. Every cent raised in this way goes towards social and educational upliftment projects for street children. The organisation was set up over 15 years ago under the patronage of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu by a group of concerned Capetonians representing business and the hospitality and tourism industries.

Tickets to the show are available at R70 per person from Webtickets. Booking is essential. All required Covid-19 protocols are in place.
