Nylstroom 150-jaar Fees - 2
Nylstroom will be turning 150 this year, and to commemorate this massive milestone they will be hosting an old-fashioned, family-fun festival. The Nylstroom 150-jaar Fees takes place from 2-3 July 2016 at the Nylstroom Hoërskool.
The aims of the events are to simply enjoy the day out with your loved ones, through good food and entertainment. The event starts off with a celebratory march, where individuals are encouraged to enter their homemade floats, or be a part of the action by walking through the streets of Nylstroom. Get into the spirit of the event by making friends with the locals and embracing their warm hospitality.
If you're looking for adventure, register for The Amazing Race competition. The event shall see you racing through to the historical sites of the town while learning a thing or two about its rich cultural heritage.
Foodies can feast on hearty food at the hoërskool hall, ranging from traditional cuisine to contemporary dishes. Alternatively, browse the exhibitors stall if you're looking to take something home with you. Vendors showcasing their wares are an eclectic mix of local businesses and travelling exhibitors.
Other entertainment on offer includes various competitions for the little ones, sports matches and for the thirsty, a fully-stocked beer garden.
What would a birthday celebration be without a cake? Project Thank You, a local community project, invites you to join them for a slice of decadent cake.
There's nothing more romantic than watching a movie under a bed of stars with a loved one. Snuggle up, grab a free bag of popcorn and watch numerous blockbusters flicks and classics. If you looking to strut your stuff on the dancefloor, Nylstroom will also be hosting a barn dancing event. The evening promises to be a night of good cheer and revelry.
Join in on a farm-style breakfast - entrance is canned food which will be donated to a charity.
