Vrede en Lust, the Western Cape's oldest working wine farms, invites you to join them on their 'start of harvest celebration'.
Attendees can expect fun and thrills at this 328-year-old family-run estate, where there will be a myriad of activities and wine-tasting to take part in. If you've got children, enjoy a round of croquet or a game of giant Jenga out on the sprawling lawns. Traditional harvest activities that wine aficionados can look forward to includes grape stomping and sampling the latest release wines. If you're a food fundie, you'll enjoy the mouth-watering, organic foods which will be up for the taking throughout the festival.
Festival-goers who are looking for something different from the conventional wine tasting, the fruit and wine experience is not-to-be-missed. Due to the popularity of this event, bookings work on a 'first-come-first-serve' basis. If you're looking to enjoy some wine swirling and adult conversations without the youngster, Vrede en Lust provides a professional nanny service to the guests. There is also a designated kid's area for your children to spend many thrilling hours at.
Tickets can be bought directly from the Vrede en Lust Wine Estate and grants you full access to wine tastings and all related activities, a Vrede en Lust wine glass and a complimentary drink on your arrival. Tickets are affordable, considering aficionados on a budget, and will cost you R150 per head. Children under 12 are granted free entry. The gates will open at 10 am and close at 5 pm.
