Waterkloof Ridge Unterkünfte
The eastern suburbs of Pretoria are renowned for being the realm of beautiful estates, international embassies and a generally wealthy population. Waterkloof Ridge, while not quite as prestigious as the older suburbs like Faerie Glen, Moreleta Park and Waterkloof Glen further east, still rides this exclusive wave to some extent.
It is a pretty suburb in the south east of the city and boasts wide streets, grassy pavements and plenty of trees, as well as large houses on big, manicured properties. It is in many respects the perfect location to find B&B accommodation or a lovely homely guest house. Furthermore, its situation on the ridge means that certain choice properties have gorgeous views of Pretoria. The suburb’s easy access to transport links makes it ideal for business travelers.
The N1 highway is the most accessible highway from Waterkloof Ridge and by hopping onto it you can be in the Pretoria CBD, Centurion or Johannesburg in a matter of minutes, and ready to power through a business meeting, or simply explore these other cities.
There are some nice attractions close to Waterkloof Ridge such as the Groenkloof Nature Reserve, which was established by Paul Kruger, and is home to numerous wildlife species as well as walking, mountain biking and 4x4 trails.
The Faerie Glen Nature Reserve is also close and offers pretty walks, a number of fauna and flora species and a tearoom to boot. Heading northwards on the N1 will take you to the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens too, which are great for picnicking, and the nesting black eagles are quite a sight too.
