East London (Central) Logement
East London is a small city on the south east coast of South Africa in the Eastern Cape province. It is roughly 400 kilometres from Port Elizabeth to the south west, and just over 600 kilometres from Durban to the north east. The N2 highway, which has its origins all the way in Cape Town, connects the 3 cities.
East London is a famously friendly city, and while it is not one of South Africa’s star attractions, it has some fun things to offer travellers and is close to some really great sites. The city is situated on the Indian Ocean, a warm sea, making for happy beach missions. East London’s beaches and accompanying surf spots are one of its draw cards.
The bulk of the city is located between the Buffalo and Nahoon Rivers (to the south and north respectively), with East London Central situated just north of the Buffalo River. This old part of East London has bucket loads of character, thanks to the many examples of old colonial architecture. The town hall on Oxford Street is one of the city’s proudest monuments and worth a visit.
At the mouth of the Buffalo is the East London Harbour, South Africa’s only natural deep water harbour. It is right next to the CBD, meaning that the central area is very close to East London’s lovely waterfront.
The waterfront boasts numerous restaurants, each with great views of either the Indian Ocean or the harbour itself, with its combination of big vessels and private yachts. It is possible to do river cruises from the harbour, which are a fun way to pass the time in East London.

The Berea-vincent area where Fusion House is located, and where we spent most of our time, is a lovely quaint suburb, very safe and clean and away from the hustle and bustle of the main city centre. East London main city centre however is in dire need of a good solid physical clean-up and overall refurbishment of roads and buildings.
