Overview

Khwai Game Lodge Campsite, an authentic Wilderness Camping in the Okavango. Located on the edge of the Khwai Mbudi river/lagoon, the Khwai Game Lodge Campsite offers six exclusive camping sites in the heart of Botswana’s Wilderness. Four lagoon-side sites provide uninterrupted views of the water, while two forest-side sites are set beneath a canopy of trees. All sites offer excellent chances to spot wildlife moving freely through the area. Each campsite accommodates up to 6 guests and 3 vehicles. Facilities include a private fireplace, a braai/barbeque stand, a litter bin, and a tap with clean borehole water. Two ablution blocks, separate for men and women, feature hot showers powered by traditional donkey boilers and flushing toilets. Please note that no tents are provided, and guests need to bring their own camping equipment. This is an unfenced campsite, fully immersed in nature with no barriers between guests and the surrounding environment. It's ideal for travellers seeking a genuine bush experience. Khwai River Airport is 7 km away, and Maun International Airport can be reached in 123 km. Please note, the main lodge with luxury tents and communal facilities is due to launch in February 2026; currently, only the campsite is operational.
