Overview

We are an owner run adult only 4 star boutique lodge and nature reserve nestled in the heart of Kamberg Valley, Drakensberg, part of the beautiful Midlands Meander.

Qambathi has a magical atmosphere and it is a truly romantic setting surrounded by Drakensberg mountains and valleys. Excellent service supports the superb cuisine and is sure to turn any day into a fairytale experience. Great care has been taken to create unique and inspiring luxury accommodation, where you can sink into total comfort of meticulously designed rooms defined by a blend of nature's colours and contemporary use of natural materials with luscious textures.

A total of only five suites makes Qambathi a very personal and stress free oasis. The garden rooms have their own private decks with hanging chairs overlooking the Gardens and mountain. The Chill Lounge and Pool Deck area offer panoramic views, ideal to enjoy a late afternoon Sundowner or to simply relax in the sun.

Enjoy the Qambathi forest trail taking you deep into one of the last remaining indigenous forests in the Kamberg valley or a casual walk on the existing game trails to enjoy the beautiful views where zebra and blesbok keep you company.

Part the original farm house built in 1918, now the main lodge. Surrounded by lush greenery right from your window. With direct access to the pool deck, chill out lounge, bar and are not far from the wine cellar :-) including luxury finishes such as a handmade Camphor Super King bed, aircon, walking shower and His and hers sinks.

Classroom Suite

The Class room Suite build over 50 years ago was used by the Barnes family to home school the children. This rondavel is built in a truly Zulu style featuring circles and a thatch roof. Now Stephens favourite room it boasts its own chill out deck with hanging basket chairs to enjoy the beautiful gardens and mountain views. This suite includes luxury finishes such as a handmade camphor double wood bed aircon, underfloor heating, a free standing bath with views and separate shower.

Farmhouse Room

Our entry level room with direct access to the pool deck, chill out lounge, bar and are not far from the wine cellar :-) luxury finishes such as a handmade Super King Camphor bed, hand crafted sink, Free standing bath and walk-in shower.

Greenhouse Suite

The Greenhouse suite boasts its own chill out deck with hanging basket chairs to enjoy the beautiful gardens and mountain views. With a wraparound deck you can enjoy stunning mountain views straight from your bed. This Suite include luxury finishes such as a handmade Super King camphor wood bed, a freestanding bath and a separate walkin shower. For extra comfort the Greenhouse Suite boasts, underfloor heating, Aircon and complete blackout curtains.
