Overview
At River Cottages we offer both recreational and overnight accommodation in a breathtaking environment. We offer three fully equipped self-catering houses sleeping up to 12 guests per house as well as ten two sleeper self-catering units. The houses are located right on the banks of the Vaal River in Parys whilst the two sleeper units are just 200m away from the river. From 1st September 2023, we will offer camping and caravanning facilities close to the main riverfront.
The little country town of Parys lies on the banks of the Vaal River about an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and an hour and a half from Pretoria. It is the ideal place for enjoying total peace and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The two-bedroom four-sleeper units consists of an en-suite bathrooms with showers, toilets and basin only and a fully equipped self-catering kitchen. These units are all on the banks of the river.

Where pricing is “per unit” the Average Price Per Person based on maximum occupancy is used for the price range comparison. A search made for Homes and Villas however will always be based on the full daily rate of the unit irrespective of the number of people the unit sleeps.
