Overzicht
Sperrgebiet Lodge is situated on the farm Sperrgebiet 10km outside Springbok in the beautiful Namaqualand. The farm is situated between mountains and quiver tree covered koppies. The Lodge is in the middle of this rugged and beautiful semi-desert. The profound silence of the night is broken only by the occasional call of the jackel and the hoot of owls. During spring you hear the heutjie-heu ,the call of the koffiemeul grasshopper and the barking geckos. If you are a bird watcher bring your binoculars. Namaqualand is known for its spring flowers, rare succulents and unique indigenous plants and guests can enjoy this on foot or mountain bike. Goegap nature reserve is about 15 km from the Lodge and the Namaqua National Park with the well known Skilpad wild flowers 60 km. Sperrgebiet Lodge is also a perfect stop over between Cape Town and Namibia.
