Overview

The Purple Dog is a spacious, neat, modern house, full of fresh character and flooded with light. The upmarket furniture and artistic interior mixes perfectly in keeping with its location: sun-kissed open plan living, dining and kitchen area with bar, cooking island and a hobby chef's array of pots, pans and appliances.
Our house is equipped with solar panels, an inverter and battery system to comfort you with an uninterrupted backup power supply to run lights, fridge/freezer and wifi.

In winter the free standing fireplace will keep you warm while you enjoy a glass of red wine from our area.

In summer (or actually all year round) enjoy the diverse outdoor activities such as walking and mountain biking or just relax and indulge on this wonderful huge patio in the shady relaxing area under a beautiful old oak tree, The only recently added boma style braai area is an invitation to entertain your family and friends for a unforgettable evenings.


The Purple Dog is ideal for groups of friends looking to getaway together and family holidays. The self catering house offers 3 modern bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with all amenities for up to 6 guests with excellent quality beds and linen.

The house is perfectly located between the famous Saturday’s Greyton Morning Market (that should not be missed) and the Nature Reserve. A lovely private garden with citrus trees and mountain views will spoil your soul and make you wish to stay forever. Therefore, to really appreciate the beauty of the surroundings and to experience Greyton at its best, a 2 night stay is highly recommended.

We offer 2 extra “fold mattresses” to sleep on in the living room in case there are two families of four wanting to stay in one house together. We charge R 100 per “mattress-bed” (linen and pillow provided) per night.

Surcharge of R300 if staying only 1 night. 50% deposit and R500 damage deposit payable to confirm booking, balance payable 7 days before arrival. Cash and internet transfers accepted. No cheques, debit or credit card.
