Palala River Cottages is named after the river that runs through the privately owned game reserve, Jembisa Game Reserve, on which the cottages are situated. The reserve is located in an area in the Limpopo province in South Africa known as the Waterberg. Game on the reserve includes Giraffe, Burchell’s Zebra, Kudu, Gemsbuck, Blesbuck, Red Hartebeest, Eland, Waterbuck, Impala, Warthog, Bushpig and much more.
Please note that 4x4 in not necessary to navigate the roads, but a vehicle with high clearance would be recommended.

Kingfisher cottage can sleep 10 people. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area with a fireplace, private splash pool, covered parking for two vehicles and a braai area. The main house has 3 bedrooms. There are 2 rondawels situated very close to the house which sleep 2 guests in each and have an en-suite bathroom per rondawel. Kingfisher is the perfect breakaway for a family or big group! A minimum stay of 2 nights applies. A minimum rate for 4 guests applies.

All the Podica rondawels are built on the bank of the Palala River and the Wild olive thicket, overlooking the beautiful view of the Palala River. There are 3 open-plan cottages in total - the first can sleep 2, the second can sleep 4 (all in one room) and the third can sleep 2. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchenette, braai area, en-suite bathroom and a lovely outdoor shower which can be enjoyed in the summer months! Towels and bed linen are provided - Firewood is available on request. Come and stay here to escape to the peace and tranquility of the bush. A minimum stay of 2 nights applies. Samia is situated with access to our Jembisa Game Reserve which falls within the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. Guests can use their own vehicles for bush drives, and bush walking and cycling are also popular. The house is a few minutes’ drive down to the Palala river within the reserve. Samia is a large log cabin setup with a view of where the Palala and Melk rivers meet, tastefully furnished and equipped with modern appliances. Samia can comfortably accommodate 6 guests in 3 on-suite bedrooms with mosquito netting. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed. All of the bedrooms can be converted from a double room into a twin room. All bathrooms have both a bath and shower. Bed linen and towels are provided. The lounge area opens up onto an expansive deck ideal for bush viewing, shared meals and relaxation. A boma area at the front of the cabin is a lovely place for evening gatherings and star gazing. The cabin has a communal fully- kitted kitchen, dining area and lounge with a fireplace. A minimum stay of 2 nights applies. A minimum rate for 4 guests applies.
